Los 59 Globos de Oro se saldaron esta tarde noche del domingo en Los Angeles con el triunfo de "A beautiful mind" en el terreno dramático (mejor película, actor, actriz secundaria y guionista), y de "Moulin rouge" en el de comedia o musical (mejor película, actriz y banda sonora). Eran las favoritas y confirmaron los pronósticos.

El veterano Robert Altman ganó el premio a la mejor dirección, por Gosford Park, y la sorpresa de la velada fue en el capítulo de mejor film extranjero. El favorito, "Amelie" cayó derrotado ante el franco-bosnio "No man's land".

Los galardones de interpretación protagonista recayeron en Sissy Spacek y Russell Crowe (drama), y en Nicole Kidman y Gene Hackman (comedia). Los actores de reparto agraciados con el Globo fueron Jennifer Connelly y Jim Broadbent.

Resultó también premiado el cantante Sting por su canción para "Kate & Leopold".
