"Hable con ella" ha confirmado este martes las expectativas más optimistas, logrando dos candidaturas a los Oscars, en las categorías de mejor guión y realización, ambas en la persona de Pedro Almodóvar. Es la primera vez en la historia que un español consigue "colarse" en estos apartados normalmente reservados a profesionales anglosajones (solo Luis Buñuel optó una vez a mejor guión). El triunfo es aún mayor entre los talentos mexicanos: Salma Hayek ha conseguido colarse entre las mejores actrices por "Frida", los hermanos Cuarón en la categoría de mejor guión original con "Y tu mamá también", y Carlos Carrera en el de mejor film en lengua extranjera con "El crimen del padre Amaro". Por contra, la cinta elegida por la Academia española, "Los lunes al sol", de Fernando León de Aranoa, se ha quedado fuera de esta última categoría, lo mismo que la argentina "Kamchatka", de Marcelo Piñeyro. Los films que han acaparado mayor número de nominaciones son "Chicago" (13), "Gangs of New York" (10), "The hours" (9) y "El pianista" (7).

Nunca en la historia la presencia latina será tan palpable en la entrega de los premios anuales de la Academia de Hollywood, aunque con realismo las posibilidades finales de conseguir la estatuilla son escasas para todos nuestros candidatos. "Frida", la cinta producida y protagonizada por Salma Hayek en México, ha sido citada en otras cinco categorías: mejor banda sonora, canción, dirección artística, diseño de vestuario y maquillaje.

En el apartado a mejor película se enfrentarán "Chicago", "Gangs of New York", "The hours", "El señor de los anillos - Las dos torres" y "El pianista", mientras que en el de mejor director el manchego Almodóvar se codeará con Rob Marshall ("Chicago"), Martin Scorsese ("Gangs of New York"), Roman Polanski ("El pianista") y Stephen Daldry ("The hours").

Para la estatuilla extranjera, Carlos Carrera y "El crimen del padre Amaro" tendrán enfrente a Zhang Yimou, con "Hero" (China); Aki Kaurismaki con "Un hombre sin pasado" (Finlandia); Paula van der Oest, con "Zus & Zo" (Holanda), y Caroline Link , con "En algún lugar de Africa" (Alemania).
